Account Service Representative

The Empire Company is looking for a motivated, active individual that thrives in a fast-paced physical environment for a full-time Account Service Representative for the Syracuse, NY area . In this role you will travel to various home center stores to maintain accounts by servicing the stores' needs. Help us put our best foot forward!


What you will do:

•Travel to assigned home center stores based on pre-determined cycle to maintain merchandising and inventory control.
•Maintain accurate on-hand counts by making Cycle Counts adjustments and/or notifying customers of necessary changes when appropriate.
•Stock replenishment orders within 36 hours of when they are delivered (but after the products to be stocked are received into the stores' system) unless other arrangements are made with authorized store representatives. Document these arrangements on a written call report and ensure that management is aware of the arrangement.
•Keep aisles free of debris during the stocking process. Clean up and properly dispose of all bundle ties and other packing materials.
•Maintain customer inventory and optimal appearance of Empire products in the customer store by:
•Straightening and culling.
•Order entry and/or recommending suggested orders to maximize turns without stock-outs. * Preparing returns and credits.
•Making sure point-of-purchase materials and literature are up to date and in place.

What you will need for the role:

•High school diploma. Vocational training in construction and/or inventory analysis helpful.
•A valid driver's license, un-restricted other than for corrective lenses. Must have evidence of current and on-going vehicle insurance coverage.
•Possess organizational, time management, analytical skills, and basic math skills.
•Must have a professional demeanor, great communication, and interpersonal skills to foster relationships between Empire and home center stores.
•Self-motivation, self-direction and ability to work independently while adhering to deadlines.
•Must be able to use a Pocket PC, computer and company email, and learn new computer skills as needed.

What you will physically need to do:

•Repetitive motions, and using hands to manipulate, handle or feel - up to 70%
•Standing, walking, bending or twisting - up to 60%
•Working bent forward at the waist, reaching above shoulder height, and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl - up to 40%
•Reaching with hands and arms, and squeezing and grasping with hands - up to 90%
•Activities requiring depth perception - 100%
•Operating moving equipment/driving - up to 40%
•Lifting 5 - 25 lbs. - up to 40%* Lifting 35 - 50 lbs. - up to 20%
•Lifting 100 lbs. and over (with assistance) - up to 10%
•Pushing/pulling up to 25 lbs. - up to 40%
